1981 SC Value

I came across an '81 SC for sale for a pretty low price. The car is running but will need transmission work before it will be road worthy. It is currently kicking out of 2nd and 3rd gear.

Any ideas on the value in the current condition? What about with a fresh trans?

i saw the same ad. when i looked at it i thought if you can get it for $1-2k less than he was asking and the rest of the car is decent, that would be a good buy. really depends how the rest of the car is.

From what I understand he contacted a friend of mine at a local shop and he seems convinced 5k will buy it. I need another 911 like a hole in the head but you rarely see complete cars this cheap. I'm a little surprised it hasn't sold yet.

I bought one like it

I bought an 80 911sc with bad head studs for $5500 , trans fix is easy $1500-2000 if you pop it out. Careful about the head studs on these they may be bad too.
