how can i tell if my car is numbers matching thanks brian
|
I called up and applied for my COA over the phone 5 weeks ago. They called me back 3 weeks later to let me know it would be a few more weeks due to the volume of requests they had over the holidays. I pretty much knew it was matching numbers, but Porsche has to confirm it. Some people have complained it can be inaccurate or incomplete. From what Porsche has told me over the phone when they called me, the numbers do match.
You can post your numbers for the engine, body and transmission in the technical forum and I'm sure a few of the members can let you know if it is close, but PCNA is the final word. Certificate of Authenticity - Owner Services - Porsche Service - Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG |
You don't need to order (and pay for) a COA just to get the #s. Cal 1-800-PORSCHE, give them your VIN, and they'll call you back with the engine #, tranny # and IIRC colour code. I did it a year or so ago, found I have the original #s matching engine, so I decided to keep it when I transplanted a 3.0L.
