Motor rebuilt by renowned Porsche engine rebuilder Motor Meiser Inc. How much does that add to the value?

what a shame... that's a really nice looking car.

Who knows... maybe MM screwed up this one and accidentally built a decent engine for a change.

Im gutted. I really like the color combo of that car. I just spoke to the guy. Even if this is the one they got right I think the MM rebuild is just to risky for me. Im trying to fool myself there could be two shops called Motor meister, and this car is from the good twin. Overall Such a shame. if only the motor had been left alone.
Imagine it with Fuchs and my Carrera Fatty steering wheel.
Aw crap.

I don't know the seller

But he's had several very nice looking cars on here in the last few months. I'm surprised he would pick up a MM car. I guess he hadn't heard of their rep. It is a beautiful car! I'm with you, I would have to sell those wheels to pay for some Fuchs!

Euro car in California it's whole life...huh? I suppose there's a plausible story here.
Ok nice color combo but, those wheels - steering wheel - shift knob and a Motor Meister rebuild... hmmm...certainly makes you wonder with regard to the previous care and maintenance history of this Carrera.

For what it's worth, I have an 86 coupe with 180 k miles I bought about 6 months ago that has a motor meister in house rebuild. It was rebuilt at 150 k. Great compression test and runs very well. I'm certainly not here do defend Motor meister, but, if ALL there work was bad, they would certainly be out of business by now. Tim

I would like to see a motor get rebuilt by MM and before it is run in a car be torn down and have the quality of the rebuild evaluated. Tear it down and see if they used the wrong parts, out of spec parts, didn't torque something, or anything else.

I saw a post somewhere years ago that their failure rate on rebuilds was 5%. The issue isn't just rebuild quality. It's the fact they often double or triple the original quote and if/when the engines fail, they have not handled it professionally.
