Porsche Emblem 911 LeMans 962 Badge - HELP!
Anyone know anything about these? Seen them? Real? Just bought this based on it being the real thing (so he said) - but not sure - just way, way cool!

there is someone making custom porsche crest badges in different color variations.
your 962 lemans look like one of these. it is definately not a factory badge, however it is beautiful!

RRico - aka Steve,
Being the new owner of the above, how do you know by looking at it that it isn't real? What is you background for such a statement - help me come down off my cloud. Dan

As the others said, it looks like a "real" Dauer 962 emblem. A purpose-built street car based on the 962 built by Dauer. Excellence did a write-up of one years back--pretty cool car. I am pretty certain that is what you have--as I have never known Porsche to use anything but their official crest (once they had it) or a decal of the same on their race cars. nice badge nonetheless

Looks like the Dauer badge like others have said. Since they only built a handful of these cars, non for sale in the US, I couldn't speak to it being genuine or not.

all the factory 956 / 962's have a decal crest badge like the early race cars.
also a few friends of mine own og 962's. Stay on your cloud, its a great piece.

What would YOU pay for one of these? I was sold as it being real, but no part no. on the back. What would you pay for a nice faker? Trying to determine the REAL value of this.

Those appear to be applied after-the-fact by the graphics designer. If applied by the "factory", they wouldn't be in 3 different positions.
Nonetheless, the "962 Lemans" badge is not Porsche. |

Nice, but I'm still betting the bodies left the factory bare, and decals/emblems were placed by a designer.

The Dauer badges were made for the street cars, not the "Porsche" race cars....
