Does anyone know the difference between a coupe and a karman coupe?

I believe it refers to different factories. The Karmann was built at the Karmann plant. As I understand it, they used the same machinery and process. There is one school of thought that the Karmann versions were a few pounds lighter due to steel differences. Anyway; I'm not an expert but hope this helps.

Thanks gwp I found this behind a repair shop. A REAL MESS! DIdnt know if the fact that its a karmann coupe made it woth persuing. Probably worth parting out for the right price. Thanks again
