Value of good condition 76 911s for parts
I was recently hit from behind while sitting at a stop light in my 1976 911S. The right rear frame rail suffered some damage in the hit, which is surprising as the outside cosmetic damage was minimal at best, and the bumper shock mount did not distort at all. However, there is significant frame damage, to the extent that the drivers door now kisses the strike plate when you close it.
My insurance company is causing me much grief, as their opinion is that this is pre-existing damage that they will not cover. As such, I am getting back a car that is distorted enough that the engine moved sufficiently to be able to see light between the engine tin and the rubber seal at the forward left hand side of the motor, where before there certainly was none. I cannot afford to do the frame work that would be required, and in fact I believe if the insurance company would pull there head out of there **s and cover it as they should the car would in fact be a write off. What I am wondering, is does anybody have a ball park idea what a complete car, 76 911s with original 2.7, timeserted but no re-build information on the engine, and overall in good cosmetic condition, would generate parted out? Obviously I know that this is a huge generalization I am looking for, I am just looking for some sort of info on which to base the future plans for the car. Has deep 6 fuchs in reasonable condition, the car overall is in very good condition though the interior is tired. The front seats are a fresh recover, but not the best recover in the world. All instrementation works, no known faults with the car other that those and tired front strut inserts. ![]() |
