But it only has 220,000 miles!

Air conditioning has been yanked out, lots of non original bits (don't forget the Cool Collar)... I don't understand it either. Secretly, he really doesn't want to sell it.

News flash: The days of nice clean mid-year cars for $6,000 - $7,000 are gone.

I have no affiliation with the car or seller, and I don't think the car is $20k either, but somewhere around $15k for a retail ready mid-year is probably the norm.

Overall looks like a decent car to me. The problem is that for the money he is asking, you can get a nice SC, 3.2, or decent 964.

I personally think he will have a difficult time getting 15k.

I love the 76 77's. Reminds me of my first Porsche mistake! LOL. It's all about Porsche memories at this point anyway isn't it?

Really?

Its obvious just look at his choice of screenname (911-S) glovebox badge (911S) generic mats again (911S) he's hoping to cash in on the

cache' of the earlier S models which are certainly going through the roof...Ok some ultra clean mid years are getting all the money and then

some but please anyone in the know is aware it's simply a standard 911 with an underpowered and smogged 2.7 CIS motor

that won't adequately get out of it's own way given the opportunity! I wish all these dreamers well ,hell theirs a first time porsche owner

just rareing to get into that seat just around the corner...sure...B

While its not worth 19k I think it is worth 12k plus easy.

I don't see any decent 911 coupes for sale for 6.5k anywhere...............

Yes, they can be had for those dollars, but...honestly I have not seen ANY mid-year cars going for $6.5k as of late, and when I hear this number I wonder if anyone has looked at the market lately. Here in Southern California, where there are more cars (though this is drying up), every mid-year beater that is around this price lasts hours in the local paper or on craigs. If anyone has a clean midyear for $6.5k I would like to buy it as I have been looking for one.

I recently bought a '75 that needed a lot of sorting but was driveable and had a recent documented engine rebuild. In my research I figured out that you really don't buy a driveable 911 for less than $8500. I have to say that the car in that ad is a solid $12k car.
