'74 Carrera SR Coupe
Curious to know low and high numbers on US Carrera SR Coupe with AC.
Original California car absolutely rust free with original paint. However a little faded in hood area. Problem is motor and tranny were stolen some months ago. I assume I could find a motor to work Possibly even go with a 3.0 I was told. Would prefer to find a '74. 2.7 though. Prefer original but maybe there are better ideas for it . Color is brown. Thanks for the opinions. Frank |

For some reason, the '74-75 Carreras are bringing strong money. Puzzling because there's no difference in drivetrain from a '74-75 S. However, 'numbers matching' still seems to be a big selling point, so I'm thinking this roller would be worth somewhere around $12-16K.

yes very interesting. i assume because it is something "different", what it represents, and low production numbers.

I think you're right. The '97-98 Carrera 2S is also only cosmetically different and has low production numbers and also commands a huge premium over the narrow body '97-98.

Frank you could easily install anything from a bone stock US CIS 2.7 to a later US 3.2 and have a perfectly fine running example would it be correct or sought after uhhm not so sure.
Now if you installed an MFI 2.7 Euro Carrera engine you'd have something ,I have one in my '72 RS clone and even an extra getting rebuilt, then you would have that extra zing. As it sits no engine/trans depending on rust and/or paint condition possibly 8-12k more if exceptional...Bert
