Unless it's a 20+ year old car with less than 5000 miles on it, and is all original.

I agree with the rule generally though. I saw an ad in the PP classifieds for a "time capsule" car, looked at the ad and the car had something like 125,000 miles on it.

That's one strange time capsule.

well, the faster one travels, time slows down relatively. So upon returning from a fast trip of 175K miles, one would actually have aged more slowly than those who were at rest.

Doesn't "time capsule" mean unmolested, like a snapshot of the time period exactly as it would have looked that day in the past? I have a '77 911S that I would refer to as a Chocolate brown time capsule. It has original everything in near-perfect shape. Unmolested. But it does have 70k miles on it.

time capsule is something buried.... could have a million miles on it but it represents the period of time......

I found a car a year and a half ago that was a time capsule. It was a '73 coupe. Original and unworn carpet, no smells. No cracks in original dash. Original door seals... you got a very specific feeling sitting in it. Like you had gone back in time.

It can apply, but it is very very rare.
