New rule
You can't say "time capsule" any more. Lol
|
I'm on board with the new rule. :)

Unless it's a 20+ year old car with less than 5000 miles on it, and is all original.
I agree with the rule generally though. I saw an ad in the PP classifieds for a "time capsule" car, looked at the ad and the car had something like 125,000 miles on it. That's one strange time capsule. |

Doesn't "time capsule" mean unmolested, like a snapshot of the time period exactly as it would have looked that day in the past? I have a '77 911S that I would refer to as a Chocolate brown time capsule. It has original everything in near-perfect shape. Unmolested. But it does have 70k miles on it.

time capsule is something buried.... could have a million miles on it but it represents the period of time......
|
I found a car a year and a half ago that was a time capsule. It was a '73 coupe. Original and unworn carpet, no smells. No cracks in original dash. Original door seals... you got a very specific feeling sitting in it. Like you had gone back in time.
It can apply, but it is very very rare. |
