This is being discussed on another thread. Are you the guy who backed out of the deal and took his $300 back?

Seems the seller is trying to be as honest as he can and this hole was overlooked. Someone is not lying when they correct their post and take various photos of the area and update the description.

If you were the guy and are fishing to see if people will be on your side, I don't think you are going to get much sympathy because something like this often gets overlooked - especially on a $3k parts car. The posts look like he updated it so there will not be anymore confusion - or more importantly, any more time wasting, tire kicking, or Paypal chargebacks.

This obviously is a serious projects and/or parts car, not some rare 356 or Porsche 911 RS that a small hole hiding would be a serious embarrassment to the buyer and seller (take $$$ to fix) and a deal breaker. I would say that car is what it is and the price is what it is.

And, yes, there is a tiny hole the battery pan. Common and the size of a dime. Who knows what is underneath - but for the money you gotta be kidding.

This is a serious project and that rust hole is the very very least of your worries.

Sorry, but "there is no rust"?? Disregarding the battery hole, how could someone even say those words on a 40 year old car?

That's the problem - there is no such thing. That's why you have to see everything in person, and even then you don't always catch everything. There is always something, especially poking around with a screwdriver at the tiny bubbles under the undercoating. Buyer beware...
