Mid year sport seat price help please?

Hi All,

I picked up a 76 911 that was ordered with the Sport Seats.

I'm thinking of selling them off separately. They were redone years ago in cloth (originally leather) and need to be recovered.

Any idea on the current value of the seats?

Thanks in advance,
K.

Cores are worth a grand or a lil more but why take all the value out of that car? U will get way more keeping the car as it came new.

I would not get rid of the seats, just stick them in your attic. When you go to sell the car, you'll wish you had them......

Just in case you don't know, mid-year Sports are different to both the SC/early Carrera and the late Carrera Sports seats. They also seem to be a lot harder to find than any of the others, least they were when I was looking (and I gave up after 3 years and bought SC sports).

Sport seat value generally is really weird; spend any money on them, and it's probably a hard sell to get that money back.

Few years ago, seemed many folks just wouldn't pay $1000 for perfect factory original seats of any style, and cores were anything from $150 upwards. But a set of factory (or factory quality) covers costs more than that $1000 - and professional fitting (probably needed, if you want them to look like factory) isn't cheap either. Think I was quoted 8 hours fitting per seat by the guy that made my covers...

Some home recover jobs look great, but most, well, uh, don't. Seems to be one of those jobs where it helps to know what you're doing/have done it a few 100 times before...

Once again I have fallen into the "rainman" of Porsche enthusiasts here on Pelican.
These are out of a 76' 912e.

Sorry about the typo.

Thanks all for the info.

I guess I'll let them go with the car.

I was thinking to replace them with a set I have in storage and selling them separately to recoup some of my outlay on this car.
(It's the strangest color combo I've seen in a stock Porsche --yellow w/red interior)

Again, I appreciate the feed back.

K.
