Problem is that it does not have it's own class in SCCA yet. I think it runs C Sports Racing and is getting creamed by the regular, ligher cars in CSR.
This is a sports car version of the Legend cars. Unfortunately, it has not taken off yet. They don't have the backing like Humpy Wheeler provided for Legend cars. Great idea though. Doug 84 911 ROW |

Well, using '962' in the name is pretty chintzy on a car with low-end solid Wilwood disks! A little over 20 years ago there was a much better-looking kitcar called the 'Manta' ... styled like the McLaren M6-GT!

For some reason Putnam really campaigns these cars. I was there last weekend for a DE event and there were many pictures of them there.
I showed up early on Friday and saw a couple of actual 962s running as well - now THAT was impressive. No solid discs on those cars ![]() |

Mark - you were at the PCA event at Putnam Park?
I was there too! Wish I'd known you were comming over my way. I ran down on Sunday to watch a friend run his white '78 930. Sorry I missed you. |

The reason that you will see these 962 replicas at Putnam is simple. The guy who builds them owns the track too. It's like his personnal testing ground.

With that solid rear axle, it should have NASCAR body work!

I saw two of these cars run at a BMWCCA driving school I attended a year ago April. They were very fast and didn't seem to do more than lift through the corners at Lime Rock. The owner (of Diasio) said that with better tires, he wouldn't even have to do that. They brought both the Lowenbrau and momo car which looked pretty cool booking around the track, but you could never confuse them for a Porsche 962. And the sound... No Porsche looking car should sound like that.

i'm sure this is a very old post about the diasio .
but i'm the owner of the car with the yellow chassis . 99% of what was stated here is not true at all . the cars are not replicas at all and were never design to be . i own a porsche 962 and the diasio 962 even though the real 962 is in fact a small car the diasio 962 is even smaller . they are powered by yamaha 1000 motors . the one i own is powered by a GSXR 1000 cc motor . the reason why they don't use vented front rotors is because the cars are so light the vented rotors will not get the brakes up to there needed brake temps to work . i know i changed out the rotors and calipers only to find this out and changed back after two events . one of the classes they run in is DSR and not CSR my car wins it's class most times out . over this past winter i built a new back half for the car to change it from a solid axle to IRS . the solid axle works good but not great the big plus to it is you can change out the gearing in about 2 to 3 minutes . now with the new IRS i built it takes about 10 to 12 minutes to do a gearing change . when i 1st got the car i just picked it up as a little fun car to take to the track from time to time . but when i 1st go on the track with it i knew right off my thinking about the car was all wrong . they are quight fast and fun as hell to drive at a scaled weight of 927 lbs with out fuel and a motor the dinoed at the wheels with 163 HP and torks of 92 FT LBS it offers good power to weight . at a track like LRP my fastest lap was a high 53 second and the average is a 56 second lap . there is only one place you have to use your brakes there and thats at the end of the main straight . at most all track days there are very few to non that are turning as fast of a lap as the diasios . so are they worth the money people ask for them hell yes ! is the smile on my face the same as it is when i drive my real 962 hell yes and maybe a little bigger because the cost of running the diasio is about a 10 of what it costs to run the porsche 962 for the day . |

they are a total blast to drive and faster than many 1st think . they look at things like a solid rear axle and think there not all that . don't let solid axles fool you many scca GT1 cars have them . there is good and bad about solid axles yes but the car as a hole are very quick and do quight well in D-sports were they are classed . is there better cars in that class well yes but i have won many races against them . |

The internet is riddled with ignorance and poorly thought out opinions. If I spent my time trying to correct and regulate the idiots of the world who don't like what I do like, I wouldn't ever sleep. If you love and enjoy the car, there is absolutely no reason to spend any time defending your decision and your choice of toys.
