1973 911 targa
I'll be getting my 911 back on the road soon and I'll need to come up with a value for the insurance company, any help will be appreciated.
It's a 1973 911t targa. It has a 2.7 with 40IDAs and a 901 tranny, 930 rear axles, and I'm sure there are probably more modifications that I don't know about. The rear end has been updated with a center reflector and a teatray spoiler. BBS Mahle wheels running 225/50R16 size tires. It has a little rust but is structurally sound. The fenders are burned a bit from the large rolling stock, and the paint shines up nice but it could definately use a paint job. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

To replace the car, you would probably have to spend $15-16K.
I might pad that a bit for a 'stated value' policy.

If you go with a speciality insurance company like Hagerty, you assess replacement value and that could be a huge range. They evaluated my 1973.5T at a replacement value of 42K, agreed upon value. Its running me about $340/year, however its not my daily driver. With that being said, if you wil use the 911 as your daily driver that changes everything. I would put a replacement value of 25k.

Smart number. That's the number I would do. Realistically if something happened it's not just the car - it's the time, money, and myriad other things that you are insuring it for. Replacements for that car are not cheap - nor are the parts or the time and money to scour the earth for them.
