1965 911/912 values today

Folks,
I've been thinking that I may "need" a 65 911 or 912 in my stable. Where is the market today for driver quality, minimal rust versions of these cars? No basket cases, just an honest driver. My preference would actually be a 912.
Your views are most appreciated.
Thanks
George

George,
You will find that there is a word of difference in price between the 65' 911 and 65' 912 cars. A nice clean original 65' 911 is going to set you back in the range of $100k. The 1964/65 model year was the first production year of the car and only a few hundred were made. And these cars are very expensive. The 912's in this same model year go for less than half of that.
If you are not hung up on having a 1965 first year 911/912, move up a year and look at the 1966 or 1967 911 912 cars. They are a lot less, look almost the same, and have some of the bugs worked out of them.

blau911,
Many thanks for the post.
I think I'm going to see if I might find a 65 912, as I'd like the first year (i've got a 67 911s ).
If anyone out there knows of a good (driver) please let me know.
Thanks again,
george
