Considering 1972 updated 911, would love your thoughts.

Hi folks,

I'm considering taking a look a 1972 911E updated to a 964 look with 3.3 turbo motor. Listed on eBay classifieds here: Porsche : 911 coupe in Porsche | eBay Motors

I've been slowly shopping and doing my research with the aim of getting 964, but then this popped up and piqued my curiosity. The listing is a bit short on information but I emailed requesting additional pics and info.

From what I've read, 1972 updating isn't all too popular - and if it were me, I'd spend the money on making it look like a 1973 RSR and not the 964. At any rate, I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about this car? Anything in particular to look for - other than uniform panel gaps, rust, etc. Is it just me, or does the boot look like a complete mess? What with all the wiring and such.

Any 911 veterans' thoughts would be greatly appreciated. This would be my first Porsche.

Edit: Trying to fix link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=221237054504

Not sure why linking just won't work for me... but it is Ebay Item: 221237054504
