Project SC - worth the effort?
I have a friend who has a project SC that she'd like to sell.
Body is solid, bad color IMHO, and needs some interior work (replace race seat). Biggest issue is that it has a Motormeister leaky 2.7 in it - I don't know why. You can drive it now, but it leaks oil. I could probably buy the car for under $5000, repaint it myself and find a better seat, and for another estimated $5000-$7000 put a correct 3.0 into it. So, I'd have around a $10,000 to $12,000 SC, which seems reasonable, not to mention a fun project. Thoughts? Also, I'm taking pity on the car. It just sits in the driveway under a cover...http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...leys/shake.gif |

Whats the Bad color ? The last color you found was very special. |

On the SC, for 5k it's still probably a fair deal. Now is the time to grab these type of cars before all the spare 915's and 3.0 engines start to dry up... |
SM70911 - I'm still a fan of the Olive Green, and the paint has come back nicely with a little love and elbow grease.
This is a repaint in a purple-y maroon... Not my first choice. I have not looked at the paint tag to see what the original color was, but if the engine is coming out I can repaint it fairly easily myself. Thanks! |
