looking for a 911 shell

Hello,

Im new to the forum and im reading/learning on what car i should be looking for. My plans are to build a car to my likeing's and thus a shell would work for me best.

What should i expect to pay for a 930, 964, 993?

Must have a title and be road worthy. IT would be used for time attacks and some street use. Either a roller or shell!!!

For now i would like to find a cheap shell. Whats the current prices for these cars?

I currently have 1994 mazda rx7 single turbo with a sequential dogbox. I can fabricate, paint, build engines, and put together all my cars.

thank you,
Danny

Danny,
I don't think you're going to find what you are looking for "cheap".

Im probably in the wrong place trying to find a deal on a porsche. Looks like ill have to find my porsche in a barn find. ill keep checking back. At 10k i rather just buy a running car.

If "road worthy" is a requirement, you are much better off buying a car like the one listed at $10k, and parting out what you don't want as you take it apart.

There aren't a whole lot of 993 or 964 rollers hanging about unless they are salvage.

A flood damaged car might be an option for your desires if you intend on taking it down to the shell and can managed the wiring issues.

I am unclear on what constitutes a "roadworthy" shell.

There are a ton of rollers in So Cal, I'm sure I could point you to one if I understood what you're looking for.

You have happened to pick the three most current desirable 911's (longhoods excluded...). A good friend just sold his mint 964 roller for 18.5k.
Good Luck.

I sent the thread starter info on a sold whole shell with fenders, wiring, and quarters and glass for 1500. obo and got no response so I'm guessing he's looking cheaper than 1500. guys. That may be a tall order to fill although not impossible is highly improbable considering that there are thousands of guys in the know seeking the holy grails out there in barns. Most sellers of the 911 cars are gonna be internet saavy enough to know that there is residual parts value even in rust bucket tubs and as time goes on these cars are going up in value and the days of funding an unwanted, unloved 911 and over.
The budget for madza rx7 build is also different from a 911 which he may have discovered too.
