Value on 964 theft recovery

Hi guys,

how would you value a 1991 964 C4 convertible, 120 k miles, recovered from theft?

Car is a stick shift, all original with 16" wheels, non-op AC and broken top. Engine turns but does not start, lacks compression on two cylinders. SEVERE oil leaks. Clutch is fried, from the smell of it. Sounds like a complete rebuild to me. No idea about the trans.

The body is also damaged, the rear bumper is broken and it went through a fence which damaged the front bumper and the entire right side of the car. Needs a complete paint job plus some body work.

The interior is still ok, has broken driver side back rest frame, top covers broken, as is the rear view mirror.

So, how would you value this? Worth to repair or should I buy it to part it out?

Regards,

Johan

Fixing everything that needs repair would exceed the value if it was a pristine example. Parts car..

Parts. I'd say maybe $8000.

Thanks,

Is it really $8k in parts on a car like that? I would have guesses on a $5k value. But I dont really know them, hence the question.... :-)

Regards

Johan

I believe that'a G62 transmission, and when they resell (not that often) they are $3500 or more. the engine is $4000 as a core. Front differential, ABS pump, etc. all have value. The interior and any undamaged body parts have value as well as do any undamaged wheels.
