Tires, rear worn more than front - use or abuse?

If you were looking at a car and the rear tires had 1/2 the tread as the front, does that indicate abuse or just normal use? What kind of wear pattern do track or DE cars show up with? A 1990's C2.

my rears are down a lot more than my fronts (DE event)
I would love to hear more info on this :)

It's not unusual for the rears to wear faster than the fronts without being tracked or abused. I had an 06 S and after three years and approximately 30,000 kilometres needed new rears and the fronts were still good.

Tracking or DE events will exacerbate the wear however.

I go 3 sets in the back with 1 set in the front.

No doughnuts, burnouts, showoff and crap like that.

Just pure driving at its best.
