Question 1988 Commemorative Edition?

Does the Commemorative Edition with Ferry Porsche signature embossed in the seats add any extra value to the car?

Standard car vs. limited edition, same condition and all - the ltd. will always command a premium. Some more than others, though.

On this particular model 5k tops, imo.

This is MY guess. The better the car, the bigger the premium. For a top car, it might be $5K, but for a fair to good driver it might be $2-3K.

+ 1 condition and pedigree (ownership history) trumps embossed seats all day long.

Six Gun,
Please pardon the pun, but you're shooting from the hip. His question was about a "premium" above the condition/value issue. Porsche is a master of producing 'Special', 'Limited Edition', 'Limited Production' cars, and we, the consumers, seem ready to pay extra for them, new or old.

It takes a special buyer to like the metallic blue seats. I think this is one instance where the special edition is worth less than a more desirable color.

You are wrong my good sir. 95% of buyers will pay a premium for that model all things being equal. And the seats are not metallic!?

Owner modded cars are a different issue, tbough. But here we have a model that Porsche AG has pimped

Isn't that the one that was blue with blue interior?

Seems like dealers try and add another 5k-10k for this model. Not worth it to me unless you like the leather in them.

The special, limited edition cars of the 70's and 80's were a lot more about marketing than they were about making the car collectible. We are not talking engineering here, we are talking embossed seats!

And they're STILL more about marketing. Isn't that why they're called 911s?
