Looking Again - Advice Needed
All,
Sold the 87 911 targa a year ago and have been regretting it ever since. Looking to get into another P car soon. Came across this local car and have a couple of questions. Are the RUF upgrades worth more money? If so, 10%? 20%? Above market? I know that I need to check the paperwork, etc. Let's assume it looks solid. Are the wheels that special? This car has some nice features. I was thinking it was probably worth $40k...what do you think? Am I missing anything? Appreciate the input. 1986 PORSCHE 911 CARRERA COUPE - RUF upgrades MOSTLY ORIGINAL PAINT. NO ACCIDENTS. A nice original car will always be worth more in the long run, imo. But if you like it it could be worth more to you. No doubt RUF put a lot of money into the cars.
Also, that guy from Velocity Motors seems to put a little extra on top of the prices of his cars. If you google the car it was for sale for 45k a little while ago. |

He's had that car for sale going on at least a year now.

The Ruf 3.4 liter engine, if documented is probably +$3-4K on value. The wheels appear to be chromed, which is pretty much -$3K value if so.
The other as-delivered items like sport seats and limited slip add a few grand. Spoilers? A matter of personal preference, but -$1K or so if you want to go without the wing. The color would be a +15%, IMO. I think the OP's view on market value is spot on. |
