Needs to be restored to make it look closer to a 1970 914-6GT and not a silly worthless 90s PCA racer with 993 wheels on it. So with $100k worth of work to bring it back then it is worth maybe $250k. THis car is anything but a correct concours car and it proves that PCA concours are just clean car competitions rather than correct car competitions.
The word Glocker keeps coming up as if this is special. This car was modified after the factory built it. To say that is special is subjective but I am sure most all Porsche collectors want a Porsche and not what was done to this car. Saying that the auction is your best bet is something that someone who watches auctions would say. I have run cars through auctions and know the real stories behind them and they are not always as rosey as you think. First is you went to the 2 top auction companies with the car in present forum and asked for $250k reserve they would laugh at you for so long you would walk away with your tail behind your legs. After $100k in corrections they might be game. I have a real Mercedes 300SL Gullwing car that West Coast Customs got a hold of, they painted it purple with heavy gold flake, now the doors open downward instead up upward, it has a $35,000 stereo in it and it was once owned by TUPAC SHAKUR so I think it is worth $5 million. Or maybe it would be better to remove all the junk first and bring the car back to the original state - the state that collectors care about. |
Its worth what the next man is willing to pay.

Doesnt really matter your 2 cents the car has been sold

what did it sell for? :p |
What did it sell for? And is there any history on recent GT sales?
|
that are the spec's on the motor
CR, cam , FI or carb, CC, tube headers ie is it a real 70 race motor ? what HP and tork does it make vs 125 hp stock how much of the body is plastic vs metal ? what was done to the chassis brakes suspension ? stock or race gears and trans ? what does it weigh vs a stock 914/6 I would think a full out period race car is worth more then a body/kit with stock spec bits |
btw local ad today on c-list
