1979 911 Hybrid value

I have a ’79 911 with a Renegade Hybrids 350 small block chevy conversion that I’m going to sell. It has an entirely new suspension, bushings, seats, interior carpet, steering wheel, tires, wheels, etc. $30k invested in mods.

I know this reduces value to most. I used to really frown upon these
conversions. But this Porsche is very fast.

Any opinions on a reasonable private sale price offering?

alot less before you started.

no a big hit. Worth less before you started the conversion. Keep it and drive it.

If it doesn't overheat and the 915 is solid I would say ask between $12-15K, the saying goes "theres an arse for every seat!". I have no issue with it, bet it sounds nice.

I know the old saying to think before you modify, it is not for everyone. I think the above estimate of market value is probably correct.

I used to hate those ads in Panorama 'take your Porch and Chev it'. Funny how your tastes change after a test drive.

I have a light tribute IROC 911 i built with it's original power plant. It feels very tired by comparison but i couldn't part with it.

Anyway, there is over $30k into this car. If anyone wants to go real fast
in a M.Y. '79 PM me.

I'd sell it for $22,500 firm.

GLWS, never know who's out there! Be sure to post a picture of every nut and bolt because on PP FS Forum that's what you will be asked for!

Fixer,

I've never liked these hybrid cars till I took a drive. The car was professionally built with a V-8 engine and the quality of craftsmanship was unbelievable. These hybrid cars seldom get appreciated in the Porsche community. Wait till you get a chance to drive one of these well prepared V-8 hybrid cars and your opinion about this bastard car could sway in a different direction. Unless you have a 930, these cars would outrun our beloved 911's. Don't bet against these cars unless you want to lose your pants.

Can you provide some more details about the conversion? Engine specs? Who did the work? When was it converted? Miles on setup? Does everything work? It doesn't appear to have AC, correct? Some V8 conversions are $10k cars, some are $30k, it depends on the craftsmanship. Pics would be helpful. In case you can't tell, I have some interest in this car.

I will provide more pictures when i have time to get over to the garage.

No AC. Something that i want to do is make the motor look more Porsche and less Chev, hide the Edelbrock and change the air cleaner to be more European looking.

Here is my other gulf blue V8 Porsche without AC or power steering:

It will be featured in Panorama if i ever complete the interior and suspension.

It is a 1983 928S, the concept was what if Porsche gav the 928 model a little love.

Fantastic car and really handles, stops and goes! -Matt

It'll weigh 2650 lbs when complete (with perlon/leather interior) will have 300 BHP and equal lb-ft.
