61k SC from Mohr Imports
Looks pretty nice, but pricey.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/792798-1983-porsche-911-sc-61k-miles.html Go to the website to se the detailed pics. In the trunk there is a color code plate from another car. An 83 did not have this door jamb metal plate and plus it is glued to the side of the trunk! Pretty fishy, imo - Hard to trust sellers these days! |

Yeah, I noticed the same plate and thought the same thing! I have an '83 Targa (48K on the clock) so I always check out similar cars to compare condition. I'm thinking: where the hell is that plate on my car and why does that one appear to be stuck on with two way tape? Odd.
On the plus side the seats look really nice and the engine bay looks as it should for the miles shown. With the seats and interior in such nice shape I wonder why it needed a complete repaint - it doesn't appear to have been sun baked by the look of the leather. Also, the Targa top looks a bit wonky at the front leading edge. It doesn't sit down smoothly. At least they didn't try to paint over the Targa script on the roll bar, er "style" bar. Strong price for an SC, will be curious to see what it sells for. Greg |

Paint code. Should be inside the drivers door by the hinge I think.

The plates (4 series) on the car now were issued probably in the early 2000's, I always question that when someone states that the car has been in California it's whole life. The plates that should be on it would be in the 1 or 2 series if it has been registered in the state since new. Unless the previous owner had personalized plates on it and the car changed hands at the time these plates were issued. Still, something that I notice when I'm looking at a car from California.

Weren't these on earlier cars inside the driver's door hinge? The color code on my '83 Targa is on a silver sticker in the trunk on the left side wall.
