I would check it out for sure. Is it a real Carrera? Need the VIN.

Also:

"As a result of inadvertent storage with gas containing ethanol, fuel tank, lines and injectors are not functioning..."

and 1) Fuel Distributor, 2) Fuel Accumulator, 3) Possibly WUR, and others.

At least they were honest in stating that the tank, lines, and injectors were smoked.

I really like the car. Then again, I really like '75s. I would move on it, but check the VIN - looks like a real Carrera to me, but I am surprised it is not advertised as such.

May or may not be a real Carrera however the motor is a bone stock 2.7ciS so my guess is it is just a stock U.S. model with rear flares and stripes added. Not terribly valuable since the fuel system and CIS are toast.

I don't know how to get any details until week of sale.In 1975 was there just the 911s and the carrera? What is the difference?Big question is can the car be bought for under 10K?I know at auction car prices can go ballistic, but sometimes less desirable cars fly under the radar.

Same motor on the 2.7 S and the 2.7 US Carrera. It could be a great car.

Could be a Carrera but only the vin will tell. People often forget that while the US Carrera didn't get the MFI engine it did have brake and suspension improvements over regular 911s.

Gonna be $2500 to make that car run right. Even at $10-15k that's worth it if the car is as time capsule as it looks on the surface.

I like that car. Have not understood the recent price increases on the 74/75 US Carreras, as the engine is the same as the '74/75 S, but ya gotta go with the flow, not try to outthink the flow.

I'd be a bidder if I wasn't using 2 garages, driveway and street for my current stable!

Thank you Mr Monson and Mr Weenie,The two of you gave me advice on the 87 Carrera I bought this summer(now my 27 yearold son has got the Porsche bug, this might be some thing we could work on together)Apparently there is a rather large difference in the price of the S and the Carrera.Better do my vin research so I know what I'm looking at.

Under $20K for a complete '75 coupe -- even though not running -- seems like a deal.

Value

Man I wish you guys were around when I sell stuff......with cash of course.
So we have a pig in a poke engine (from everything I read) that is a year known for failures and it is pronounced to be a good deal at 17k
Sorry I fail to see that. A friend was there and he passed .....without remorse!
I have never seen anything to authenticate its status either.
What am I missing.......
