Late Sport Seat market value opinions & confirming compatibility
Greetings all,
Both my 1987 and 1988 are equipped with factory sport seats and I LOVE 'em! I have an opportunity to acquire a pair of the following... 1991 944 S2 Optional Sport Seats Optional Full Leather Color: Black Apparently, they are perfect / have been in storage / are out of a very low mile car. I have yet to set eyes on them tho. I will inspect them if I decide to purchase. What are they worth? They bolt / slide right in to an '87 - '89 G body, correct? Do I need another set of sport seats? Nope. But... I would like to build a Club Sport M491 someday and these could be the ticket for that (although my first thoughts do run towards Pole Positions for that project). TIA!

944 sport seats are the same seats used in 911s. Not sure if the tracks are the same.
Hard to say what they are worth without pictures. In good shape, $2k +/- $500 depending on how great they really are.

i recently sold a pair of vinyl driver quality seats out of a 944 for $1000. assuming the leather is in good shape, i think thamlin is spot on...

I have recovered 2 sets of sport seats, shop does very nice work.
Leather and labor was 1500 per pair. First you you have to find a set with no rust and good foam.

That seller is a dreamer if he thinks late sport seats are worth $6-8k. Aside from 993 sport seats, generally, earlier the sport seat = higher price. I believe this is due to rarity. Pre 73>74-80>81-84>85-94.

I have a pair from my 87 in burgundy that could be dyed black (I successfully dyed a lot of other interior pieces black). 40k miles on the car when I removed them, they're in excellent condition.
