I like it already...nice box, i'd say its a good one, I'll bump up the value to $30K as it didnt occur to me about the RHD before, that in itself is unique and a big bonus in your hood :)
they wanted $12K for a 68 912 RHD chassis here in Cali some months ago, well not a total shell,( it had suspension and some glass) but had some rust and no engine.

For this car you should find number 557 on door fender Hood rear deck lid and should have 4 screw grille.I do own 350630.

Thanks,
I no next to nothing about early 912's.
So the sways are original???

Not sure if the 2 extra gauges are original.

What do people reckon for the value?

Non standard gear (that I know of)
Steering wheel (1970's)
Seats (1975)
Wheels (has 14inch Fuchs from 75)
Deck lid & grill (from a 67)
Interior trimmed in very high quality leather
Paint is not the original 'slate grey' but in excellent condition.

Assume zero rust (prior to full inspection)

Matt Monson 03-09-2014 04:45 PM

It would be really hard to add the extra gauges. I bet they are original. I've seen a number of 5 gauge wood trim '65s even though the Internet claims 3 gauge painted.

Only the first 720 are paint dash but the clock should be green not hard to find.

He has one of these as well.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1394415514.gif

Interesting regarding the difficulty of fitting the additional 2 gauges.

pors1968 03-10-2014 02:57 AM

If you want to know it a real 5 gages take off clock (it hold 2 nuts rear gage) and check the edge if it sharp .These are holes are punch hole at factory.

Thank you.

Update:
According to Porsche Australia the original colour is Bali Blue not Slate Grey.
Interior was grey Leatherette.

pors1968 04-02-2014 02:38 AM

Nice combo .Did you find out about option like rear sway barre and 5 gages.

No, but I have to give them another call to confirm original motor.
I did ask about the sway bars. They said they did not have that information.
Will find out tomorrow hopefully.

pors1968 04-02-2014 03:09 AM

Keep going very interesting car.

willcall 04-03-2014 04:30 PM

Apparently Bali Blue is a RARE colour.

Where to find ID plates & stampings?????

Could anyone please post pictures of where to find the ID plates & stampings.
The plate that I was expecting to find in the LH door jam that states the colour was not there.
I can only assume when he did the bare metal resto he removes the tag and didn't replace it.

Nice car, but a lot of modifications. The dash does not look right, it's not hard to find out if it's a 3 gauge just check VIN to the 912 Forum...looks like someone added the gauges...

Seats are wrong, wrong color, not being picking but only about $15-18k...some people say $30-35k in Oz, gee big price difference..pans replaced?

willcall 04-08-2014 02:45 PM

Thanks,
No rust repairs ever apparently. Oz prices are different to the US. In its current state you simply wouldn't get this car in Oz for less than 25k unless the seller had no clue. Seller spent big bucks on this car making it less original unfortunately.
Yes, dash should be painted. 5 guages may be an original option as seen on other '65 912's. Yet to find out though.
