Can Anyone Say "El Camino" in German?
Not 911, but I ran across this in today's e-version of Hemmings Motor News:
1978 Porsche 928 Elcamino Bed / Custom Truck for sale | Hemmings Motor News Interesting fertilizer hauler. |

Weg according to Google Translator. Die Weise seems to translate a little more directly though. Either way you say it, that looks pretty horrible.

Actually cars like these were pretty common in Denmark during the 90es. Due to the absurd Danish taxation system a car "cut" like this would only be taxed with 60% of the cars value insted of 180%.
Rundt om 928 http://www.bilbasen.dk/brugt/varebil-inkl-moms/porsche/928/54-pick-up/1939028 A GTS with Danish 180% taxes was around 400K USD new! Last edited by christiandk; 03-11-2014 at 07:43 AM.. |

I think "Die Strasse" is German for "The Road" which is English for "El Camino"
But if I had to pick a word, I would suggest "Ladeflaechenkraftwagen" -- which translates roughly to "truck bed power car" Lord knows the Germans love to form compound words. (my computer won't type an umlaut.)
