Value of a factory 930 targa?

This would be the rarest of rare cars but not sure about desirability? It's important to remember with collector cars that some are rare because not many people wanted them when new.

Anyhow, Porsche offered the 930 in all 3 body configurations in 1988 and '89, if not mistaken. I may have one to sell soon, I'll supply more details as I get them but just wondering about its general desirability/value compared to coupes or cabs?

This one would be in low mileage, collector condition. I know that there are some people on this forum who are very current on the market, what say you? :)

Man..good question. Certainly will not appeal to the make-it-a-track-rat crowd. But I think these cars are starting to move into a different plateau of desirability/collectability where things like chassis rigidity under hard cornering doesn't really matter. If I am correct, the rarity of a Targa 930 is probably a good thing.

'88 or '89? '89 was the G50/50. That would be a more valuable car. Probably beyond my budget but I would be interested in a car like that. Not sure what it is worth but will be watching.

Speeder, put it out there sir. These cars are red hot right now. A 930 targa, very rare. Do your homework. Would love to see pics. There are some haters in here, but a 930 targa would draw some huge attention. Bout as cool as cool could get. Go over to the 930/turbo, supercharging forum. Will be a lot of good help there.

Ok, when I get more info I'll share it. It's part of a collection of Porsches that are part of an estate that I might be involved with. I was just curious for comments, I worked at the dealer when it was new and remember that not many were sold. The turbo cab was out and that was obviously more popular.

I'd say right now a 930 targa will be very popular. More so in rare colors and stock condition. You may want to ask Sloan what he thinks as he leads the market on these.

Do cars from ultra-expensive outlets like Sloan really lead the market, or are they outliers that don't have much to do with real-world selling prices?

IMO they are outliers. Last year Sloan had a 83 Ivory SC coupe listed for $49k. A friend of my family has had hers since new in the same color with fewer miles than the one Sloan listed. He offered her less than 1/2 what he had his listed for.

How many of his "in stock" cars are actually in stock?

I think a car like this is rare and it would be worth seeing what he values it at. OP can always list for 20% less.
