78 SC Value
Ran across a 78 SC sunroof coupe a/c removed. 158k miles. Black/black. Salvage title - although no sign of repair. Current owner bought the car in 1995. Repaint is in good condition except for several bubbles at rear windows. Interior clean, new vinyl front seat covers, leather rearseats , dash not cracked, sunroof and antenna motor work. Could use a new headliner.
Clutch went out and the engine has a broken head stud plus it leaks. Car started right up and does not smoke. There are a host of electrical demons with the rear defrost, cruise control, fog lights and other minor items. Thoughts on price? Salvage is a big minus, engine and clutch too. Thanks. |

Current market that car will sell for around $10k. If you can get it for less it is worth buying.

With a partially redone interior, and all good body panels and glass, maybe toward the top end of that range.

Just to many things with this one. Plus, owner now thinks it is worth a minimum of $10k based on the market of $20K+ SC's, even I tried to help him with the math on the title, engine, paint and clutch. Moving on for now. Thanks for everyone's help.

You're better off. Something better will come soon. Don't mean to sound like a fortune cookie, but it's true.
