I hope someone goes ahead and buys Bill Lumbergh's SC

Porsche 911 SC | eBay

That '74 vin made me want to dust off my old ebay ID and lob a bid or two. I've got a 3.0l on a pallet and that would be an interesting oddball car to own.

He, he took my stapler.

'74= pre galvanized. Judging by the hood, I'd expect some serious issues...

Movie companies generally buy really cheap, awful donor cars and make them look 'just good enough' for a film, especially if they are going to be damaged in the film (remember the tow truck scene?)

Chances are, those flares are 'glass...

The lack of underbody photos scared me off. I want '74 because it's the last smog free year here. I'd backdate it. I want a long nose hot rod without the longnose chassis cost of entry. And truth be told I would actually prefer a targa since I have two coupes already.

It's an abandoned project. Not uncommon to see a few brand new "restoration" parts on a car like this. Helps to close the deal with value added on what is otherwise a questionable car.

If Steve McQueen played Bill Lumbergh that might justify the $15k premium they are asking.

I called on this car. The seller has absolutely no documentation that this is the car from the movie.

Then the car isn't from the movie.

Without proof of Jennifer Aniston's naked butt sitting on that seat, I, ummm, welll...

What were we talking about, again?

My neighbor used to be the very owner of the car used in Office Space. If there is any indication the car lived in Austin, Texas there is a chance this car is the same one. Have his name too.

Well, without actual paper proof, the car wasn't in the movie. As in, something from the movie that includes the VIN.

A registration that was in the movie company's name would be adequate.

Car in the movie was apparently an 82 SC - so, no - it's not the car
IMCDb.org: 1982 Porsche 911 SC in "Office Space, 1999"

edit: What's a "1974 SC" anyway?

I dont get why it would be worth more. Sure the delorean from Back to the future or Lightning Mccqueen from Cars, but just some SC from a 80s B movie!? Ahhh.....

The main 928 from Risky Business sold pretty cheap a couple of years ago. And it was almost the main character in the movie.
