Auto Trader
I also just checked our local Trader and I put in my San Diego zip of 91910 and went 100 miles out. A lot of nice cars in the San Diego- LA market but few deals. Most have figured out the price rise. A lot of air cooled cars in the $30-40,000 range. But still some cheap ones. Put in a LA zip and you will get a ton of cars. Newport Beach in Southern is a super Porsche place. So much so it has the nick name of New Porsche Beach!!! Nick

Compared to LA, there are very few nice cars in San Diego. I suspect they are all garaged, never driven, or just went North. I can't believe how few 911s are for sale here compared with LA and I have lived here 10 years. So many cars up there.

Well, we have a large PCA San Diego membership. And I think there are a lot of nice cars here. Also, the reason for my posts is that in Southern California there are more 911 cars than anywhere else in the world. Just might be a good place to look. Also, our cars have little to no rust. For example, our San Diego rainy season only dropped 4 inches of rain! That's it!!!!

I think you are wrong. A lot of folks on this site bought their cars on Craigslist . I did in 2010. I found my 85 Carrera with 133,000 for $12,000 and it is very original. It was at a small sports car shop in Temecula Ca. It still runs great and has passed the last two Cal smogs since I have had it. No scam.

You bought in 2010, I bought a great 930 Porsche in 2008 on Chicago's Craigslist at a great buy....most of those great buys are gone....especially on Craigslist.... But you must check out all sells you just never know... |

By the time you call this great buy on Craigslist, the seller has been called more then he wants and IF a good buy it's sold already....I been there, done that...many, many wild goose chases....

I too bought off CL, but the seller wanted a premium before it became fashionable. The car was still available after more than a month, and I "happily" paid the premium. I've driven high speed Targa Californias and won concours with the car. That ain't bad.

I'm just saying they show up every day. They all can't be bad. The 84 turbo just may be a deal if most stuff works OK. Look at how many guys back date their cars. Heck the 3.2 is worth something along with the 915 and all the other stuff.
