Something for the Magnus Walker fans...

1/10 of the price of his cars......and had to be bumped many times. I dont get it?

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/808990-1986-iris-blue-911-coupe.html

What is this missing....crack pipes, dread locks and Christmas pudding!?

Uncle Enzo 05-15-2014 02:52 PM

Idk. Anytime I see lots of pics of cars being tracked I tend to move on but that's just me.

PushingMyLuck 05-15-2014 03:45 PM

The car doesn't even look street legal with the tape on the headlights. A track car with tons of miles probably doesn't appeal to most of the people driving this market. I think if the seller only had the 2 pics of the car in the garage, it would have sold faster.

You're just stirring the pot, right?

COLB 05-15-2014 03:55 PM

Hard driven track car with rough body, no apparent (engine) performance mods, and about 200k. What's not to like?

Car is sold. It appears to have checked someone's boxes at 18k or so.

Matt Monson 05-15-2014 05:55 PM

I'd hit it.

Nope, but I was just making a point that the I think that the yellow Carrera deck lid makes the car special and cool in a funny way....like some love the unusual mods that Walker makes. I am beginning to see why some like it.

It's tape, it's there for safety, it can be removed with little effort. Consider also that a lot of people are looking for a car that is a combination street and track, why would the seller post pictures as if it was a Sunday driver garage queen when it's not?

stevebmd 05-16-2014 06:05 AM

love the fact it still had the factory blaupunkt head unit installed

Is that a popular concours retrofit?
How costly is it to find an original radio unit?

Don't ask PML to be rational. That's not why he's here.

Believe it or not, many owners take absolutely pristine 911s to the track occasionally for DE days. I've seen almost brand new cars, perfect older cars, you name it. And plenty of beat-up track mules as well.

The tape on the lights is mandatory to keep glass from falling onto pavement if there is an accident. It hurts nothing. I could put blue 3M painters tape on a fking Ming dynasty vase probably and remove it w/o harm.

This car has absolutely zero to do with Magnus or the cars he collects. It's a plain vanilla '86 Carrera with normal miles for its age that is a street car. It's occasionally taken to a local track for fun days, not a race car by any stretch. He seems to have an extra FG duck tail lid for it that he bought from someone with a yellow car, I assume that he still has the stock lid. The radio is the one that came in every 911 that year, not some exotic/concours/jack-off part.

I use to somewhat defend your presence here because I thought you were being bullied. I now see that you truly are an audacious troll.

If your questions are serious, I have one for you; out of a million sperm, you were the fastest? This is impossible under the laws of nature. What is your game about?

I, too, was fooled at first. I think people of good will often think well of others as a default. So it surprises them when others have ill intent. The Nigerian scam is a genius blending of appealing to greed while at the same time playing on the majority's sense of good will.

PML has been trolling from the beginning. He never will buy a car. He is here to ask stupid questions, make outrageous claims, and to divert topics from the factual to the personal at any opportunity. By now, the guy should know chapter and verse on all things aircooled 911. But he still makes the same stupid comments. Why? to create controversy and get people to reply. The ONLY way to kill the troll is to ignore it. And as trolls go, PML isn't even a good one. Just persistent. :(

I understand the function of the tape and know that it can be removed. That's not the point I was making. I used the phrase "curb appeal". Why? A car with taped lights looks like a non-street legal car to most people. It looks like that 1968 Camaro with tubbed wheels and a 500HP engine that crazy neighbor has. Taped headlights just doesn't help to market the car to the broadest audience. It looks like a race track project car, EVEN IF IT'S NOT.

Silber calling ME persistent. LMAO.

Maybe most Porsche buyers aren't as ignorant as you.

Just sayin'.
