Want a 996? Here's one...
Yeah, I know.
But let's say you have an aircooled car for the nice days, and are looking for a daily driver that has more modern conveniences, like a good A/C. This is a great looking coupe, has low miles, and checks the boxes for preventive maintenance: (no affiliation, by the way) ![]() 2000 Porsche 911, 67,738 original miles, 6 Speed Manual Transmission Xenon headlights Unusual color -- and paintwork looks great, IMS bearing done + new clutch AOS done Cooling hoses done New tires New brakes etc. Looks like it is owned by a Marine, so there is a high likelihood of a straight shooting, honest owner, who has been fastidious about its maintenance. If you want one of these, this one would be tough to beat, IMO. $21,500 is not cheap for a 2000, but you get what you pay for with 996s. BTW -- ironic that this was my 996th post on the website. Weird....

Looks great, but it is just a car. Could serve as a dd, though.

Nice exterior. Never a fan of that interior gray.

I agree. It's an awful interior color and it was used by all German cars for years, Porsche/MB/BMW/Audi/VW. Deal killer for me but I guess someone liked it? It does not age well but this car has been kept very nice.

I've had two Audis with gray interiors, and both were OK: not as hot as black, and doesn't show dirt and wear as much as tan. The scratching and wear on 2000-era buttons and plastic coatings is a bigger issue to me than the color. That and no seat warmers. ![]()

I considered the grey the best of a bad lot on my 2000 Boxster S.

My dd 124 coupe has full gray leather. Love it. So easy to keep looking good.

My 996 had the dark grey interior, which I liked a lot. Plus it matched the exterior, always a good thing in my book.
Although I generally prefer dark interiors, there are some light colors that I like if they are clean. BMW's Oyster and Mercedes' Parchment come to mind. That light grey looks like it belongs in a govt. PU truck to me. But obviously someone likes it. Pretty sure the market in general does not prefer it, though. |
