I'm trying to get it. If he calls I'm offering much more than he's asking. I'd love to have it. Put a good word in for me folks! Me= not a flipper.

Wish me luck!

I'd love to see you get it. Call him again and offer $16k - Paypal $2k immediately to hold, go there ASAP to finish the deal.

If you're even semi-local, grab some cash and drive there now.

Wow the price is way too low. Maybe starting a bidding war?

Yes good point. Only way an enthusiest will get the car is if they make a fair offer. I would guess low 20s is fair for buyer and seller. I want it too but won't go to war over it.

I'm almost as far away as possible, but I figure a couple grand to hold it for a week. Fly out to inspect and PPI and another grand and a half to ship bit home. Kinda blows my budget, but I can justify it. Cool story with the family story that comes with it.

Good luck, brother. A good old Porsche deserves a good story.

Hard to believe a guy knows enough to post his 911 for sale on Pelican, but doesn't know enough to READ A FEW POSTS AND ADS before listing it for sale 8-10k below market value. Maybe more.

Are you serious?

no kidding he had 40 responses in a few minutes.

Vultures are circling.

If you are paying even close to ask, good luck getting a ppi. Some guy will drop cash, and trailer it away, no questions asked at $13.5. Or $16k for that matter.

Maybe the guy is a super dude, willing to bend over backwards for a "Porsche guy" -- but I doubt it. Not at that price.

But if you ARE willing to go "well over" asking -- like $20k+, he might do it. Good luck! I'd hate to see this one flipped by DRD, et al.

It is hard to believe, but I'm dreaming at the moment.

Hopefully it's not all about money and hopes it goes to a good home. It's a long shot, but I'm hoping for the best.

Sometimes a good story makes a sale. Both ways.

But woe to you if you actually flip it. That'll leave a mark that'll never go away.

As a buyer, I always appreciate a seller who strongly prefers someone that puts eyes on it and gets a PPI. I feel better about it and think, perhaps foolishly, that they care about the person getting the car.

These are Porsches of course. It's not for the faint of heart or the uninitiated.

I'm hoping that this guy is one of those guys. I may lose it in the end, but I've been looking for a long time. If it is supposed to be, I've done all I can.

I'm with you. While $13.5 is a screaming bargain, I'd be happy to add to the pot some for what looks to be an honest 911. I hope it goes to someone who will do more than simply flip the car

On eBay this happens all the time. An antique catalin radio will go up with no reserve at a very low price. In the end the item will sell for a very high price.

I suspect lots of us have thrown our hats in the ring on this one. Buying cars right now is more like playing the lottery than making a purchase.

That's my take as well.

Second post hinted at it.
