Barn find
I just found an early 911 vin #301773, it has been repainted and front & rear
bumpers replaced with newer ones, not stock. The motor has a 2.2 tag on the fan shroud, so I assume that was replaced also. The interior is mostly stock, front seats are rough but could be refurbished, back seats good, the dash is good, no cracks or tears. The worst rust is under the battery box, that would need a new patch about 10" sq. The floor pans seem to be ok, no rust through that I can see so far. I'm looking for all the info I can find about this car. What it may be worth? What should, and what should not be done. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Steve |

Hi Steve and welcome to the Pelican forums. It is a shame but it seems most of these earlier car were subjected to late model body work. the motor should definitely not be sporting a 2.2 tag on it either, that would be from a 70-71 model something like that. Sounds like quite a project, placing a value on it would be hard without pictures.
Best bet for more info is to call Porsche and get a COA for the car so you can tell what options it came with from the factory. Good luck |

Assume nothing about the engine. On the right side, next to the fan housing will be the type number (hopefully 901/xx) and a serial number perpendicular to it. Find and post those numbers.
Also carbs or fuel injection? If carbs, what brand? |
