1989 930

There's a 1989 930 for sale on Rennlist:

1989 Porsche 911 Turbo - Rennlist Discussion Forums

Any thoughts on the asking price? IMO, that's a 60-70k car, considering average mileage and condition. Should an 1989 with the G50 transmission command such a high premium over an 86-88?

Macroni 06-30-2014 05:36 AM

One year only does offer a premium.... many feel these are the best of the second series turbos.....
Is it worth a $20,000 to $30,000 premium over the 4 spd car? That is a personal question for the buyer.

IMO;This car seems rough for $105,000.

If I'm not mistaken, I spoke with the seller and he said it had a complete respray in original color. Something not mentioned in ad.

I'd love a 930 with a g50. But 105k I'd rather have a pristine 965

I have a 930 with a g50 (and I love it), but at that price, I would also take a 964 Turbo.

Good luck finding a pristine 965 for that money these days. You won't touch a driver quality 3.6 turbo for less than $125k right now.

Wow, really? So that one I turned away at less than $60k was really a big mistake?

Eric is now sad.

Wonder the price on this 3.6 is........

1994 Porsche 3.6 Turbo (965) - Holt Motorsports - used porsche 911 dealer, certified pre owned, porsche 911,porsche 993,porsche 996

The 3.3s were viewed as the ugly ducklings of the Turbo family during a very dark stage in Porsche's history. The panned 964 stylings w/ previous generation mechanicals....... they have significantly appreciated (BIN $135,000);

If you turned down a driver quality 3.6 Turbo for $60k in the past few months, yep, that was a mistake.

The one at Holt is $149,500 and it's what I would consider driver quality. Granted, Timmy thinks his cars are made of gold; he'll sit on it awhile, then accept less. Unless it goes back to the Fatherland.

Three years ago. It was properly-priced at the time.

:(

Slight price reduction, to $97,500.
