A reasonably-priced longhood?
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/815073-1969-912-coupe.html
$24.5k seems decent for this car, assuming no rust, and considering the general exponential rise in prices for anything longhood. I would have guessed closer to $30k to start. BTW, I think the color is great, and I sort of like the cookie cutters on it. Last edited by SilberUrS6; 06-08-2014 at 09:42 AM.. |

![]() Got the car late last week, around 3am! Freakin truck driver. Put her up on the lift to give her a good inspection. -One small patch on front pan but not at pick up points. Looks like somebody may have damaged tow hook area by actually using the tow hook. Been patched and looks professionally done. -Couple minor dings / stone chips in paint -Fuel lines cracked -Rear brake calipers sticky -30 year old tires -Battery may need to be replaced -Rear sp bushings close to end of useful life -Shifter cup bushing deteriorated Other than those minor issues, the car looks to be in very good condition. Absolutely love the color. And the leakdown was ~2%!! So... what is she worth? The plan is to add her to the DD rotation. 1 - 2 times a week. 76 miles round trip mostly through TN valley back roads. Already replaced the shifter cup bushing, fuel lines, oil change, tranny fluid change, adjusted valves, and am recharging battery. Brake rebuild kits and brake lines have been ordered and should be here by the weekend. This winter I will replace all the bushings. Trying to decide which wheels to use. '69 14" fuchs, '70 steelies, or '73 15" fuchs. The steelies have good tires on them so I will use them first. But they are ~6 #s heavier than the cookies on there now. Big shout out to Scott!! ![]()

Apart from the minor maintenance you mention and the tires, all I would do is swap the D/S mirror for a flag and drive the snot out of it. The cookies look great ! Id use them until you find some ATS 1's or even better ARTT
Very good buy, congrats !

Nicer than mine. Cool car. Enjoy it.
Which are the ATS1? Might have a set I would sell. Actually came with my '67 but I went 6x15 Fuchs all around. |
