Help pricing a highly modified twin turbo 964

Been tossing around the idea of listing this beast for sale. Much will depend on what current market pricing looks like. Granted, have idea of what I would need to get for it but would love from feed back for you all. Here's the list, and I am sure I am missing some things.

Base: 89 C4

Engine: 3.8 twin turbo
3.8 Mahle piston and cylender set
Carrillo rods
ARP rod bolts / studs
993 Heads
Upgraded valve train
Web cams
TIAL GT 2860 turbos
Custom manifolds
Custom exhaust

Fueling / Ignition / ECU:
Full stand alone LINK ecu
Custom engine wiring harness
M&W Pro 14 cdi ignition with Crane dual coils
Twin Bosch 044 pumps, surge tank, custom fuel lines, rails etc.
Car is built to run both E85 and pump gas

Drive train / Suspension / Wheels / Brakes:
993 6 speed gear box
996 GT2 / GT3rs clutch and flywheel package
993 turbo brakes
Bilstein PSS9s
Fikse FM5s 18x10, 18x8

Interior:
RS carpet
Carbon trim
Rennline pedals, floor mats
Recaro seats
RS door panels
High end audio (3 way focals, 8"focal sub, 2 focal amps)

Exterior:
Custom slate gray paint
965 turbo rear quarters
C2 turbo front bumper with custom turn signals
935 mirrors
Molded rockers
Painting window trim, handles, etc.

Like I said, I am sure I am missing things. AC has been removed. Currently car does not have heat but could be hooked up. Its fast, absurdly so. On E85 car made 630whp, 570whp on 91 (at 16psi). Its spools quick, full boost by 3800 rpms.

Usual minor issues. Some oil leaks, but perfect oil pressure. Great leak down numbers. Its a highly modified car, much like a race car, it requires attention. I drive the at least 3-4 times a week.

Love to hear every ones thoughts on this. Hers a few pics for you.

Beautiful car ! I think you have the stance and the look nailed. This is probably not what you want to hear and this really is my WAG, but I'd think $60k -70k +/- even though I'm certain you have way more into it. As I'm sure you know its all about originality right now, and sadly usually Hot Rods just don't bring the $. Also I'd think much is dependent on how the next owner wants it configured.
For me one downside is that I wish you had carried that purity of vision you had for the outside over into the interior. The inside of the car feels fussy and cluttered to me, just wish it was as comfortable but less cluttered. More purposeful SW, sort the speakers out. But thats pretty minor, and like I said before I think you just absolutely nailed the cars attitude, the color, the stance, the engine compartment.

There was a recent sale on this board of a back dated hot rod that was built for $125k and the seller was asking $80. Having seen that car in person and in action so to speak it was certainly quick but obviously not in the power league that you have here, however it was executed really well, and the details were sharply done. I think that thread it might give you and idea, plus Mikes thread about his IROC hot rod. Also I'd definitely list the car on R/list.

it feels like that car should command more than $70k...that is quite a monster!!!

saxen 07-11-2014 03:12 PM

if you have not seen this car in person then you can never truly appreciate how clean and well built this car is! Truly a stunning all around
I would not sell this car for less than $100,000 and I would ask more to start.

How would the OP see it in person ? Like he says its a WAG and he's citing the fact that Hot rods are not the in thing right now. Ive seen a lot of trends come and go in the Porsche world, I even remember when people updated 64 -73 911's. This car is one for a small part of the market.

Does Anyone know what Sloan sold that grey hot rod for recently. Personally Id expect the upper 90's.

My opinion would be to take your time with the sale. Eventually the right
buyer will come around. It's clearly a high level build, just needs to be seen
by the right set of eyes.

Nah, the seller couldn't bring himself to remove the yellow fan, hence it was a serious deal breaker for most Pelicans who were interested...

Just repaint the car to match, its no problem!

pmax 03-07-2017 02:23 PM

The custom exhaust could be done better I suppose.

Hey I like the yellow, matches the calipers ;)

And no, car did not sell. Had a buyer that ended up not working out. Decided just to drive. Never really in a rush to sell, if right person came around with the right offer it would go.

Regarding exhaust, I am not expert, but it flows amazing. Full boost at 3800 rpms and I am 5,000 ft.

I don't doubt that. But exhausts are simple to change and relatively cheap.

Car is done well with the mods to match the look.

Heavily modified 964 C4 - Rennlist Discussion Forums

ricks234 03-09-2017 07:01 PM

What a beautifully built car. I have an aftermarket turbocharged 1990 964 C4, and I can attest that they are a hoot to drive. Mine is only around 400whp on low boost though and 500 on high boost.

This car has A LOT of money into it, and appears to be worth every penny of the sellers asking price. GL with the sale.
