Opinion on value 2.2S enginecases
I have a matching 2.2S enginecase. Any opinions of the value ?

it would have to be measured and checked to be in good spec to start. then see if the numbers are out there, check lost and found thread or just post the engine number and engine type will get you going.
if it was to be matched to the car it came in from the factory it is worth quite a bit to whoever owns the car. however just as a bare case $2500 or more depending who is selling it... the variable there would be how it specs out. . |

Do a Google search to find out if anyone is looking for it.
Also, post on the early911sregistry There are a number of cases on ebay right now. Usually less than $5k. The matching numbers Porsche guys are in the minority. Look at the cars slated to sell at the Monterey auctions next month. Maybe 1/3 claim to be matching numbers. The engine/ transmission being period correct. For example, a 73S with a non-matching 73S motor will sell for the same as a matching in most cases. Non matching but desirable colors the non-matching will sell for more. In other words the colors/ conditions trumps the matching numbers assuming they are period correct. Hope this helps. |
