How desirable/rare is Oak Green Metallic?
I will be restoring a '77 Carrera 3.0 this winter. It has had one color change from Oak Green to a Metallic Blue similar to Minerva Blue. This paint job wasn't done to a high standard. It has lifted and flaked off in a large chunk on the passenger fender. Underneath is bare metal so maybe it was a poor prep job.
With the rising value of Carrera 3.0's I will be taking on respraying it back to its original color. The car has a black interior with green tartan insert front seats which I believe are original. |

Sorry it's not for sale. I'm excited about this project and plan to bring it back to its former glory.

Nice color. Orignal colors are the most desirable, and I personally like green cars.

Coming from restoring British sports cars i just can't seem to get away from Green!
I'm tempted to add a black Carrera script to the door. |

I've seen oak green cars with silver carrera strip and silver fuchs. Add the original aluminum trim..... Nice!
Period correct bling that looks fantastic. And reversible. Don't 't know what your car originally had.

Do yourself a favor, go to your local chapter PCA site, look at event photos and count the green cars. Counting the Oak Green ones will be even easier...

Probably because I don't care for red cars. I will be ordering a COA so I don't know about the side script yet. Even though I'm sure a dealer could have added it at any time. The car has black center Fuchs. I do like the RSR Finish, I'll decide on that at a much later date. The car retains all it's Euro parts except DOT front bumper turn signals have been added. I'll just buy the black strips that go in their place. The fender lights were never altered thankfully.

The odd color green (mint) that was listed on here with an EBAY link went for approx $55 if I remember right. Search classifieds or EBAY. Not sure if that helps you out with pricing.

I had it on my watch list. Someone really paid for the color. The car also had two motors that went with it so I think that may have bumped the price substantially.
The track parts and rsr look shouldn't have made it worth more, but could have for the right buyer. |
