Little known fact: 17" Fuchs and lowering a G50 car costs exactly $17,000.

Those 17" Fuchs are a super rare option.

$15K? LOL! I wish...
I purchased the car locally for whole lot more than $15K. It had already been bid to $21,000 (in less than 24 hours) when I saw it and negotiated a price high enough to be worth it for the seller to end the auction early and sell it to me. $15,000-reserve not met, is what the auction started at. Auctions default to what you started them at when you cancel all the bids as part of the process of ending it early. It is a beautiful car, and I did this one more for fun than profit, I can assure you of that. Thanks all. Last edited by DRDMotorTrade; 05-19-2014 at 09:13 PM.. |

Nice looking car....maybe not 31k nice, but still.
I wonder why most often the service booklet is missing instead of the manual. The booklet is the one to have with the option codes, dealer stamp and hopefully service history. You can always buy a new manual. |

Ad says "Fuchs inspired" -- so I assume that means reproductions. They look better than some I have seen, though.
Guy got a great deal at 15k. The new price is a bit optimistic, but looks like a pretty sound car.

For what it's worth, I think that car looks awesome and makes me want a similar cab.

More of the same from DRD. Higher miles and a disproportionately high asking price. As usual the car is pimped here with very nice pics, and offered on E-Bay where the.buyers frequently haven't done their homework on values.
Funny how DRD's whining sounds just like Jeff from GR. it's amazing how they survive on such 'minor' margins LOL |

Let's face it. If you want to sell a car, you need to make it attractive, not unlike selling a house. A polished tip, big Fuchs, and lowered ride height along with nice photographs make a car far more sellable than some of the grainy photos of cars with mismatched aftermarket wheels.

That aside it sounds like its time for you to start the bidding on this bargain 150k mile plus cab which has been lowered and has 17" (fake) Fuchs |

1. Buy repros that are the same size 2. Swap the tires over 3. Sell the cup wheels 4. Profit ($$$) It's not like he sold the factory Fuchs and dropped on cheap fakes to fool a buyer, or slapped the car up for sale using the same pictures before even taking possession of it. I've got no dog in the fight either way, and don't have any history with DRD. But as a general principle, I don't see any issue with dealers responding to posts about the cars they are selling -- and in fact, it livens things up. I didn't find his post to be particularly whiny, and his story seems credible to me -- $15k seemed a little too good to be true. I agree he is asking pretty top money for the car, but it is hardly a crazy ask. If you like cabriolets -- and I do -- this one has a lot going for it: a last year Carrera, good colors, and a recent clutch and recent top. Matt -- I missed the sarcasm. need to get my meter re-calibrated. ![]()

BTW -- if I were going to look at the car, I would look carefully at the left rear quarter to see if it has suffered a little mash-up. There are three things that suggest this:
First, the two tail light lenses are slightly different colors. Also, the decklid alignment is a little off: ![]() And the rear sill appears to be separated from the rear quarter: ![]() This separation is not apparent on the right rear corner, where the welds appear intact (and clearly different from the other side.) ![]() Hats off to the dealer for thorough photography.

Well here's some info on this dealer.
He screws up many fleabay car auctions for sellers by bidding high to find out/show the reserve price. Then a minute later he retracts his bid. He has 50 bid retractions in the last six months alone. Then he even had the balls to call the a seller {which one of was a buddy on mind} to try and get it for a lower price. He was reported to fleabay rite away, but we all know they don't really care. |

Yet another reason to not buy a car off ebay.

I actively buy and sell in this market place. I look at ebay as more of a marketing tool than an actual auction. Let me be clear, that even as a marketing tool, I think it’s a great service, and well worth the $300 to $400 a month I spend there. I probably don’t respect it as much as I should, but since so many auctions go unpaid, and so much crap is advertised as nice cars, it amazes me anyone takes it seriously as an auction anymore. It’s a great place to start, but I find it more of a place for a real buyer, and real seller to get started.
As far as this Market forum goes, I think it’s a hoot! You guys are all so pissed off all the time. LOL! Almost as entertaining as the CNBC sour grapes peanut gallery. Good core group of 10 or 15 guys in complete denial. |

Whats much more interesting that you take the time to write a critical jab rather than address the concerns about the white cab you are peddling ... very telling and clearly any buyer anywhere would be well served avoiding you and your suspect cars. |

It's funny, in your fervor to blast the market and the dealers in it, you end up trashing some really nice cars. I have sold at least 60 or 70 early Porsches in the last year and 1/2. Most of which have been well owned, rust free, CA examples. I don't know what is sadder, the sport we all remember evaporating, or what it has done to you guys. |

I don't think the car is "obviously suspect". That's a huge reach. The car looks nice.
