1964 356 - $35k.

Kind of a bastard car, but this seems like a nice price, or am I on crack?

Unless I'm missing something, it seems like a good deal in today's market. It may be non-matching numbers but if it's a 912 motor w/ Solexes, it is the SC motor with improvements.

Worth a physical inspection if someone is seriously looking.

I happened across that today and had the exact same thought. You don't see many/any 356s in that range and would certainly be a nice starting point for an outlaw. If it was local, I'd be in a lot of trouble.

Something about it not being original appeals to me. Do whatever you want and not *ruin* a numbers matching original car. If no significant rust or sloppy repairs this could be the deal of the week.

I don't know how many 912 conversions we did to 356s in the 7 years I worked at Carquip, especially if it was a B. a lot of Shast 1720cc p&c kits too. Back then nobody cared about numbers matching.

I put Shasta pistons in the last 356 engine I built, it already had a big bore kit so all I needed to buy were the pistons. It's a popular upgrade from back in the day and of course has no effect on numbers matching or not.

I've purchased multiple cars from this dealer with mixed results. In-person inspection strongly recommended.

It was in Tn at one time in its life. I offered the asking price.
