One more explanation to the soarimg prices......

One of my colleagues told me that there is a new thing amongst the young wealthy hipsters.

You have to own a 911 from the year you were born - The idea should be spreading like a forest fire here in Europe.

Well I own a 912 from 1976 so that obviously does not count. Lucky for me. I don't want to be a hipster.

I petty the guys who were born in 1965 though.

DAMMIT - Don't wanna drive no stinkin' hipster car

darmahman 07-29-2014 09:47 AM

Seinfeld is the only one who could afford one from my birth year. ... :)
No hipster for me.

A 911 from 1954.....that must be that secret 14.000.000 usd Flachbau prototype on ebay!

Ronnie's.930 07-29-2014 10:01 AM

Christian, would you mind explaining what "soarimg prices" means? Is that some kind of British slang talk?!?! :)

BK911 07-29-2014 10:10 AM

Model year or build date?
Build date would seem more appropriate. More hipper!

Build date of my car is March 76......I am born in late Nov 76.

Ronnie....come on. That is too easy. Have you lost your "Zing" during July?

Damn hipsters have practically taken over Ft Collins. Every time I drive up there I near run over some idiot on a fixie who barely knows how to ride one.

I had a 911 from the year of my birth. Now everything I've got is older or younger.

NYNick 07-29-2014 10:58 AM

Nice Christian! Way to make me feel really old.

Speaking of fixies, does that mean a hipster 911 would have a tiny steering wheel, a one-speed transmission, and no brakes?

Fort Fun is getting more and more like Boulder every day!

I hope they will do something to make it extra hip.
Then I will NOT do that thing and hopefully stay unmistakeably un-hip.

Sorry Nick. I always thought that you were from 78 or 09!? But no matter what most NY citizens are hip :)

They only buy Sportos. And targas, which they never install. And steel wheels, no Fuchs.

I think you've confused trustifarians with hipsters.

I've got yer *&^*$ #%$^@ #$%@&, bub! Next time you visit TexAZZ I'll be sure you get a viewing! PS: Eric was so lucky, and he was VERY envious!!!

* Cautionary edit performed! :)

Mine's an '84, and I was born in '85. Guess that makes me more hip because it's retro...

Jrboulder 07-29-2014 12:22 PM

Damn, I'd have to get a swoopy-mirror 964 to be as hip as Christian.

I don't think it's possible to be as hip as Christian, regardless of the car model you buy. After all, he's as hip as this -

Well maybe I'll still be able to be as hipster as Ronnie

christiandk 07-29-2014 01:10 PM

I resent that, Ronnie - you really know which buttons to push, huh!?

Sadly enough the 911 was yet to be developed when the Texan wannabe hipster was born. Here we have him showboating with his new Porsche. He is having a hard time finding 1 gear though......Push the clutch all the way in Ronnie!

Ronnie's.930 07-29-2014 01:19 PM

Now you've done it Christian - insinuating that I would stoop so low as to own a Targa?!?!? Prepare to "face the pain", my friend!!!

Ha ha ha. Good one. But be carefull with the targa talk. That was what got you banned the last time if my memory serves me correctly.

Ronnie's.930 07-29-2014 01:43 PM

Ha! Good point about the Targa talk!

PS - which do you think accelerates more quickly; your 912 or my Porsche tractor?! :D

christiandk 07-29-2014 02:01 PM

Thats more like it Ron - Getting sharper!

Over and out from Copenhagen.

Since both can be timed 0-60 with a sundial, who cares? :P

Eric, if you keep that up, Christian is going to prattle on again about the superior flickability and fuel economy of his mighty machine (16.25 rwhp not requiring much bulk or fueling, of course)!
