they seem on 200k mark now, how do you guys thinking, still going up, or about time to settle on price...?

WPOZZZ 07-30-2014 03:34 PM

Beautiful cars, but asking and selling prices are two different things.

+1

Especially with dealers...

The wood dash and RV style center console on the first one are hideous.

the 3.3 965s and 3.6 965s are in very different price ranges. the 3.3 was basically a carry over from the 930 due to money issues @ Porsche at the time and no developmental budget for a new turbo version initially. after a couple of years with the 3.3, they were able to develop a turbo version of the [new] 3.6 for the final single turbo 911 before the 993 came with twin turbos. production of the 3.6s is quite low and their desirability has gone through the roof as of late. imo, being the last of the big single turbo adds to it's appeal.

Look at the case....

It appears on the surface to be a really nice car, however.......
Look at the pictures of the case closely.
One half is a 7R case the other half is a 6R case.......
What other mismatched parts are under the skin?

ohenryinatlanta 08-05-2014 05:58 PM

many of these car are being put away by collectors. sans any money troubles by these guys...they'll be off the mkt for years......

I've never had the chance to drive a 964 3.6, but I had my 91 3.3 and I didn't like the way it drove. I much preferred my modded 86, so I sold the 91.

That first dealer has the highest prices I have seen from one of these premium dealers. They seem to by trying to set the bar for absurd prices.

We arnt anywhere near 65k for a nothing special decent 993 are we?

marshall goldman has been seemingly releasing some private stock for sale...both turbo porsches and 3X8 Ferraris.

in fairness, they seem to have quite an inventory of desirable/"it" cars!

low production number for 3.6 might play main fact of pricing increasing.
just love that *turbo 3.6* emblem on the back, unlike others just say *turbo*

Was getting tires put on my car at a friends shop and noticed another turbo.
Walked over and checked it out.
Owner had "turbo 3.3" on the rear.
Mechanic turns to me and dead-pans "kinda like advertising you got a smaller pecker."
Still makes me laugh.

but Ironically a 3.0 liter turbo is more desirable than a 3.3 liter, at least today

94 turbo is one of my favorite modern cars.......but it is just that modern. 200+k seems way over the top. Then again I thought 60k was too much for one 5 or so years ago as well.
