Value of some nice older Porsches?

I ran into some guys in a parking lot yesterday up north who had some really clean old Porsches. Not sure of the exact models but anyone know what I'd have to pay for one of these? I thought I'd put it to the experts here. :)

One owner is an out of work actor, so he may sell his cheap.....

HugoBear 08-18-2014 11:07 AM

Wow

speeder 08-18-2014 11:14 AM

That's 911 numero uno.

20C4S 08-18-2014 11:21 AM

Lol!

NYNick 08-18-2014 11:27 AM

He's also got the last 911, and the first and last 356.

techweenie 08-18-2014 12:54 PM

I dunno. that's a pretty old car. Might not be terribly reliable.

pmax 08-18-2014 01:10 PM

It depends.

The paint doesn't look original.

speeder 08-18-2014 01:12 PM

Exactly. I'm waiting for some of the other sages to check in, though. No offense to you guys.

the grey one is worth a lot but only because of the inflated market, which will burst: Any. Day. Now.

pors1968 08-18-2014 02:15 PM

Pretty old car. just in case got some 64 cam tower .They have all euro lens.

Matt Monson 08-18-2014 02:40 PM

I could make an inquiry if you like. I got a guy doing the gearbox for 935 #1 for him right now... :p

COLB 08-18-2014 02:47 PM

Slate Grey? meh….

only a douche actor would drive one of those. Kills the market value.

speeder 08-18-2014 02:56 PM

I was actually a little surprised by the color, don't recall seeing that metallic grey on cars of that era. Learn something new everyday. :)

I was going to write something about that model missing the desirable G50 & 3.2 options, but that was too obvious, so then I was going to write about the optional webasto gas heater potentially ruining a "cars and coffee episode"... but then that led to a real question (perhaps not marketplace)- does anybody actually ever USE the webasto gas heater in their early 911's? I sure as hell wouldn't! Just curious.

speeder 08-18-2014 04:20 PM

Gasoline and an open flame, what could possibly go wrong? :)

Yes a good few people do. Also some have fitted them to later cars to save weight etc. Apparently they are safe and reliable.

Hahahahaha!

I'd be interested, but only if he's gotten rid of those BS early parts like the cam driven fuel pump and ignition points.

As it sits I'm going to say $25K. I'll go $27.5K if all the upgrades are done. No more though - those SWB cars don't handle worth dog poo. It's a known fact, I read it on a forum.

That's a ruse intended to keep the R-Gruppies from finding out the great longnose secret of the most fun to drive Porsches ever built.
