You did not say exactly which 911SC but I'll assume it's the one in your sig line, a 1983. USA car?

SSIs and an early style, 2-in muffler is a nice upgrade to any 911SC but it has a larger performance benefit on either early SCs, ('78/'79), with the large intake runners and ports or ROW later SCs which also have the large runners/ports. I had SSIs and a '74 style muffler on my 1982 USA 911SC with web cam 20/21 cams, (similar to 964 cams), and the overall package breathed well and ran very strong with a good sound that was close to stock.

I'd recommend them on any 911SC but unfortunately SSI has REALLY raised their prices. Sorry I don't know the value of the muffler, look it up new on Pelican site and go from there.

I don't have a value, but the consensus on 2-in-2-out designs is that they DRONE, and badly.

SSIs price went up because Dansk bought them.
For the muffler in question? In good condition, figure 50-60% of new.

Yeah. This blows. Did they buy the company including employees and manufacturing facility so that it's the same old people making the same old product? Or are they now just another second rate Dansk product?

Nope. SSI was a one man show. He wanted to retire. Several US shops attempted to work a deal to keep them hand built and domestic.
Dansk came in with a real big check and bought the whole operation, jigs and all. Though my money says not a single one of those old jigs will ever be used again after Dansk copied their dimensions for use on their modern production line.

Anyone know of anyone running this muffler? Still looking for comments that apply to this ssi and dansk 2 in, 2 out combo. Any friends got these?

Mine didn't with early factory heat exchangers (with a 2.7), but unlike the twin, RS-type center outlets, my tailpipes are the bullhorn type, and I've pointed them slightly downward (probably makes a difference with SPL). The only noticeable drone was at 3000, but prior to and thereafter, a very nice sound. Street price is around $1000 for SS? Scan the ads for recent asking/sale prices.

I have a 3.2 with SSI and dansk 2in 2 out.

Nice sound, it gets old. Every time I come out of the car my ears are buzzing. Put a dansk 1 out and much better. I also tried an original non sport porsche muffler 2 in 1 out and it's the quietest .

Terms of performance who knows. Never put it on a dyno.

I would just ask. Track? where do you live? Like it loud or not?

The vehicle cabin doesn't have to be subjected to the same exhaust note as others experience outside. Add appropriate insulation or other remedies to make driving less noisy or change the muffler to something easier on the ears.
