84 3.2 cab parted value

I have a 1984 3.2 cabriolet that I'm thinking of parting. The ca is located in St. Augustine FL, near Jacksonville. The car was involved in an accident and has a rebuilt title. The car runs and drive. The main question is how much is it worth parted, how much can I get for the motor and trans?

It isn't clear in your post whether the accident damage was repaired and the title rebuilt, or if it was totaled and issued a rebuilt title -- but still has significant damage.

How many miles on the drivetrain? Any rebuild history? Is the transmission sound? Is it dry or a leaky mess?

Those questions will drive the value from $5-8k for the engine and transmission. The bottom numbers are core values. Your best money will come if you have rebuild records, good compression and leakdown numbers, and can demonstrate it runs, drives, and shifts.

With the values going up, so are the prices for some parts. But availability of parts is also better than it used to be, and some are cheaper. Good condition original pieces bring a premium. Does it have sports seats? Original radio? Is the top in good condition?

If you have the patience to part it out, and do a good job of advertising and selling, I think $15-17k in parts is a decent estimate for an intact, running & driving car. Subtract value of damaged parts.

If road worthy, $13-15k intact, even with a rebuilt title (unless the work was totally botched).
