Fair price for a 1989 911 turbo coupe?

I recently listed my car on eBay at $69k, no reserve:

Forest green metallic 1989 Porsche 911 Turbo coupe

The car didn't sell (although a few "potential buyers" contacted me after the auction.)

So, what did I do wrong? Wrong time of the year? Could the fact that I'm located in Canada be detracting some buyers? Am I too honest in my description? Prior to buying this car, I looked at a few other ones that were "perfect" according to the sellers but ended up being in far worst condition than mine.

Or is the price just too high? Take a look at the engine number on the COA. This must be worth a premium, right?

looks like an honest car. I don't this the photos were very flattering. hi res shots in a better setting would help. it is tough to photograph the dark colors but they look exceptional when photo'd in morning light. dress the tires a bit as well as the rubber and stone guards...always make the diamond shine a bit more. a pro detail may be worth every penny.

let someone like tony (voiture) sell the car for you. he will get far more for it than you will...happily pay him his percentage

good luck with the sale and don't give it away!

Thanks for the input Pete! Will definitely get a pro photoshoot if I put it back on the market next spring.

I would recommend once you get the car detailed take all of the photos with the Fuch's wheels. Offer the car for sale with the Fuch's and have a separate photo of the BBS wheels off the car and include them in the sale.
I think your description was extremely fair and honest which will attract not deter buyers.
I saw your car on eBay and I think the photos killed the sale.

very good point. when you take a close up of each wheel...use some meguires quick detail spray on the black centers. fuchs wheels look so striking when clean but can easily look tired when a bit dirty.

Thanks Menmojo. I knew my pictures didn't compare to what some dealers post, but I didn't think they were that bad! I appreciate the feedback.

this is constructive criticism...we are all hoping for you to have a big sale number. we are all vested

Love the color.
Location and non-California compliant won't help the final sale price.

I'm glad you didn't take offense to my comment on the photos
Just trying to help you out.
Also make sure you detail the engine compartment.
On another note if you look at the photos ferraripete posted they were shot on a cloudy day. The best photos I've personally taken always seem to come out best on an overcast day. Especially on dark colored cars.
