info needed on 1970 911 convertible prototype for sale at bonhams

I have a friend interested in bidding on this car.

https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/21908/lot/27/

I am pretty up to speed on Porsche history, but have not heard or read anything about these.

Seems a bit suspect.

Anyone have more information that can confirm that this car is as represented? Or at least that Porsche built 6 of these.

Without certification in writing from Porsche that it was a cab prototype, I wouldn't treat it as anything more than a modified Targa longhood.

I would want a signed affadavit about the car from Jurgen Barth as part of the sale. If anyone knows he would.

^^^ this

I am aware of the whereabouts of the first publicly-shown Cab - a Geneva show car from 1978. But any cab built in '71 would be 'versuch' and likely not offered for sale.

This is all that needs to be said about this car:

"Porsche has confirmed that chassis number '9110210288' is a Porsche 911E Targa delivered in 1970 with engine number '6208144' and gearbox number '7200373'."

What else is there to say or know?
